Tania Johnston Tania Johnston is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Charles Sturt University in Australia, bringing over 14 years of expertise to undergraduate and postgraduate paramedicine education. In this role, she has been instrumental in curriculum design, notably leading the redevelopment of the Master of Critical Care Paramedicine program. Currently an Advanced Care Paramedic with Emergency Health Services in Alberta, Tania previously worked as an Intensive Care Paramedic in Tasmania, Australia. Her clinical foundation is uniquely grounded in her dual registration as a paramedic and an emergency nurse, offering a comprehensive and integrated perspective on acute and prehospital care. Complementing her frontline experience, Tania holds a master’s degree in health leadership and possesses extensive experience navigating complex health systems. Her previous leadership roles include Medical Base Manager with STARS Air Ambulance, as well as managerial positions within the Alberta Provincial Government and the former Capital Health Authority. Tania's research is dedicated to improving frontline clinical practice. She has published work on prehospital ketamine use, air ambulance pre-alerts, and the evolution of paramedic professional identity. Ultimately, her work bridges the gap between evidence and practice to enhance patient care and system performance. |
