Priya Kakar Priya has led the training, field implementation, and operational integration of multiple landmark randomized controlled trials that have shaped modern prehospital care. These include the ALPS Trial, ICEPACS Study, FRONTIER Trial, FIRST Study, and the DOSE VF Trial. She spearheaded Peel’s system-wide adoption of Double Sequential External Defibrillation (DSED) and contributed to the DOSE VF Trial, a pivotal refractory ventricular fibrillation study published in the New England Journal of Medicine. She also supported the field implementation of Remote Ischemic Conditioning in STEMI through the FIRST Study, published in the Canadian Journal of Cardiology. Currently, Priya contributes to the management of two active research initiatives: the EpiDOSE Study, evaluating regular versus low-dose epinephrine in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, and the OPTIVO Study, examining the impact of ventilation volumes on cardiac arrest outcomes. Throughout her roles, Priya has overseen paramedic education, ensured real-time protocol adherence, and aligned research activities with rigorous scientific, ethical, and operational standards. She specializes in evidence translation, adult learning design, quality assurance, and change management. Known for her inclusive leadership style, Priya is deeply committed to empowering Paramedic professionals, integrating research into practice, and improving patient outcomes across the prehospital system. |
