Meagan Slack

As a paramedic by trade, paramedic leader and researcher working for Ornge, Meagan currently serves as the Manager of Program Design, Evaluation & Academic Innovation.  She holds a Master Science in Health Sciences Education from McMaster University and has a passion for advancing the role of paramedics in improving health equity and driving social accountability within the profession and our academic institutions.  In her current role, she supports curriculum design and program evaluation of initial and continuing education programs.  In addition to her core responsibilities, Meagan leads much of the academic/education focused research in progress by Ornge Clinical Affairs, with projects targeting paramedic admissions and selection, recruitment/retention for rural and remote work locations, and examining ad hoc and non-technical team concepts.  Meagan is a proud member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and is honored to live with and work on the Lands of the Anishinabek Nation, the traditional territory of the Fort William First Nation, signatory to the Robinson Superior Treaty of 1850 (known as Thunder Bay, Ontario).
