Lisa Hobbs Lisa Hobbs is a registered paramedic, academic, researcher, and visual artist with over two decades of experience in paramedicine. She currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in Paramedicine at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) and as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ). Her career in paramedicine began in 2000 with the Queensland Ambulance Service, where she held various roles including advanced care paramedic, officer in charge, emergency medical dispatcher, and senior clinical educator. Lisa's academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (Psychology), Diploma in Paramedical Science, Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education, Graduate Diploma in Health Management/Disaster Management, and a Master of Philosophy in Paramedicine. She is currently pursuing a PhD at UniSQ, focusing on the experiences of female paramedics in Australia through creative arts-based research. Her research interests encompass women in paramedicine, female advocacy, paramedic continuing professional development (CPD), mental health, and resilience. Lisa has contributed to various publications, including studies on paramedic disaster health management competencies, paramedic workplace, undergraduate student paramedic experiences during clinical placement, and the facilitators, barriers, and motivators of paramedic CPD. Beyond academia, Lisa is a visual artist whose work explores the intersection of paramedicine and art. Her creative endeavours aim to provide insights into the lived experiences of paramedics, particularly women in the field. Lisa's dedication to paramedicine, education, and research continues to influence the profession, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges and triumphs faced by paramedics in Australia. |
