Dr. Alan Batt


Associate Professor Alan Batt is is an internationally recognized health systems scholar whose work has shaped how health professions approach competency frameworks, evolve scopes of practice, and develop equitable models of care. His career spans 25 years, ten countries, and five continents.

Dr. Batt has published over 200 articles and chapters, presented over 300 times, and attracted more than $5.8M in multidisciplinary funding. He serves as Deputy Editor of the leading international journal Paramedicine and chairs national initiatives, expert advisory boards, and technical committees. His research program focuses on professional competency, health workforce evolution, care of marginalized populations, and structural and social determinants of health. His work has shaped practice standards and education frameworks in health professions globally.
