Claire Young

Claire Young is a third-year medical student at Dalhousie University with a strong interest in Emergency Medicine and prehospital care. Prior to entering medicine, she worked as a Primary Care Paramedic in Nova Scotia. Her frontline experience continues to shape her interests in acute care, systems improvement, and patient-centered practice.

Claire completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology at Acadia University. In addition to her clinical work, Claire has extensive teaching and community service experience. She previously served as a First Aid Instructor with St. John Ambulance, teaching CPR, AED, and first aid certification courses to the public. She has also volunteered with Make-A-Wish Foundation and in community first responder roles at public events across Halifax.

Claire is passionate about bridging the worlds of paramedicine and medicine through research, education, and collaboration, and is pleased to contribute to the Canadian Paramedic Research Conference.
