Sarah Salvis

Sarah works as an Advanced Care Paramedic on the Tactical Team with Peel Regional Paramedic Services. Currently seconded from the road, she is helping to lead the Psychological Health and Safety program in her Service.  Additionally, she is also working towards a Masters in Global Healthcare Leadership with University of Oxford.  Sarah holds an Honours Science Degree, Specialist in Paramedicine from the University of Toronto.  She has an interest in mental health and wellness initiatives for first responders.  She is excited to be presenting research related to paramedic workforce health and wellbeing supports. 

In 2016 Sarah was honored to be a support volunteer for both the Heroes are Human Capital to Capital Ride and the Ontario Paramedic Ride. Over the years she has participated in several paramedic memorial rides on the East Coast of the USA and in various Canadian Provinces. To maintain her positive mental health Sarah tries to stay active in the community, curls up with a good book, runs with her friends, eats good food with her fiancé, or spends time in the great outdoors whenever possible.  Her mid-life crisis pursuit was (and continues to be) learning how to skateboard while not sustaining too many injuries.  She can be found on LinkedIn, but otherwise tries to avoid social media at present.
